Games and Entertainment#
In the first half of 2024, what I did the most was play Alicesoft games, such as Donna Donna and the Wife series.
The gameplay of Alicesoft's games is really good, different from other galgames that make people sleepy while playing. It's very immersive. I've recently been hooked on minotaur games, currently playing The Golden Bird of Sleep.
Financial Situation#
The biggest feeling this year is that I feel like I'm short of money, unable to buy many things I want, like Apple's over-ear headphones. There weren't any major expenses, but by the end of the month, the money naturally went to zero.
Study and Exams#
Nothing interesting happened, I had my wisdom teeth on the right side removed in April. I spent a lot of time in the first half of the year preparing for the actuary exam, but didn't pass. An old middle school classmate went straight to a Ph.D. program at Nanjing University.
Music and Animation#
The song I listened to the most was "Seaside Vacation" from 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, I listened to it every day when feeling down. This game is also amazing, I bought it as a birthday gift in '22, started playing in the summer of '23, and paused the game before the final battle while listening to this song. It's hard to describe, I couldn't bear to continue playing.
I watched "Yosuga no Sora," and I believe both siblings drowned in the lake at the end, because I like the ending song. The most touching part was a line from the class president:
If having feelings allows you to do anything you want, then I have many things I want to do.
Boring Days#
A very conservative period of time, Nintendo still hasn't released its new console. I bought Splatoon and played it for a few days before it collected dust.
I bought a tennis racket for over 300, did a lot of research on strategies, but no one wanted to play with me, so I'm thinking of selling it.
I remembered buying a lot of RADWIMPS records last year, but I don't have a record player, they've just been sitting there. Graduation is looming in a year, feeling a lot of pressure, sometimes I think about selling these things and using the money for Amazon arbitrage I saw online.
I wanted to travel to Suzhou, told a friend I'd sleep on his roommate's bed, but he came to Shanghai after his final exams. We met the other day, he lives far away from me, it takes over 2 hours by subway.
Couldn't find an internship for the summer, feeling lazy, staying up until 3 or 4 am. Hoping for something interesting to happen in the second half of the year. I was really looking forward to the release of Kingdom's Tears last year, made me nostalgic: when will I have an experience like that again.
First time writing, not sure why there's no latest stuff inside.
